Believe it or not, this all started with a love of Chemistry and Art... oh, and Disney

I am a creative individual who has a passion for both art and science, and of course a lover of the sweeter things in life!

When I tell people that I have a background in Chemistry and Art, they often seem pretty surprised and ask me how I have come to do what I am doing now.

You may think it's odd that an ex-chemistry student has followed a career in baking but actually, it makes perfect sense...

Chemistry is all about the study of substances, their properties, structures and the reactions and changes that they undergo. Or, put very simply, the science of stuff.

Baking is surprisingly similar. You combine stuff, show this to an oven where reactions occur, and tah-dah you get some tasty baked stuff! Okay...so it's a little more complicated than that but you get the idea.

I admit I was a late bloomer when it comes to baking, and it was only when I left university that my hobby really began. I started baking cakes, biscuits, pastries and anything sweet that required the use of an oven and before I knew it I was obsessed.

All I spoke about was cake, and I think I must have driven my family completely insane at the time!

These days, I'd say I'm a little more balanced, and I divide my time between my other passions, such as dancing (mainly pulling crazy moves in the comfort of my own home), drawing, reading and taking long walks in nature, all of which fuel my creativity.

I LOVE baking cakes that bring back a real sense of nostalgia, as homemade cakes were such a big part of my childhood, and brought such joy and happiness into my life. My aim now is to spread that joy, happiness and a whole lot of love where ever I go, and ultimately help you make life that little bit sweeter.
