Yes that’s right, it’s been 5 years since I opened my cake shop! Wow what a journey it has been so far.. Starting this was the most difficult and challenging thing I have ever done but I can honestly say it was the best decision of my life. Those early days pushed me to my limits.. boy did I have some dark times, but I kept going even when others told me to give up. When I decide that I want to do or have something I will not quit until I get there, but hey that’s me I can be stubborn at times!
I have been thinking a lot about where I want to take my business next, what I want to do and achieve. To be honest I’ve been struggling to figure out how to combine all my passions, and create a business I love.. but with the help of the amazing people I have around me it is slowly coming together! What I have been trying to do is coming everything all into one business, but maybe that isn’t quite the right thing to do. At the moment it is all a bit of a mish mash and I realise I have probably totally confused people! However, one of my old school friends recently messaged me on Instagram and told me the following..
‘Your brand has always been clear to me, you trade in happiness’
Yes! That is exactly it! Suddenly everything became clear to me..
I’ve always been very creative, lost in a world of imagination, and I want to share this and help others as I go. That was always my dream, so maybe I just need to go back to square one and remember why I embarked on this journey in the first place.
It’s not about cake, it was never about cake.. it’s about making a positive difference in somebody’s life, spreading a little bit of happiness.. and of course, making life sweeter.
